It’s hard to tell anyone what is going on here. Anytime I mention things to someone that knows the industry they are in disbelief of what I’m telling them. I don’t believe some of the stuff happens myself but it does - everyday; over and over again.
It’s insane.
I want to look for another job but I just GOT this job the end of Feb. and it’s not gonna look good on my resume. Plus, prior to the company hiring certain people, this was the best job I had ever had in my life.
Can’t they just quit?
Ugh.
I have bigger things to worry about than this job ya know? I mean; what about Global Warming, terrorist attacks and nuclear war? In fact, I would rather worry about a comet hitting our planet and obliterating all life on Earth rather than worry about a stupid job.
You might say, “
Well, I’m catholic and any good catholic must worry. It’s either that or feel guilty and I’ve had just about enough guilt with what I have been eating with the stress I have been under.
I can’t let the religious portion of my readership down now can I? Seriously….

Don't use the phrase "terrorist attacks." I have to fly next week. :)
Well, Thank you for worrying. Yes that is very important in life. Also, That feeling guilty, now that is the number one pleasure of life. You just can't live without it, at least not in normal life.
Let me tell relate something I just read in a great book, The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable, by the insighful Nassim Nicholas Taleb:
"Missing a train is only painful if you run after it! Likewise, not matching the idea of success other expect from you is only painful if that's what you are seeking.... Quitting a high-paying position, if it's your decision, will seem a better payoff than the utility of the money involved ... You have far more control over your life if you decide on your criterion by yourself."
Here, here! I agree, because I've taken a big step away from the tried-and-true path, and I'm better for it. Peter Gabriel said in Solsbury Hill that he was feeling "part of the scenery," so he "walked right out the machinery." Good on him.

I blame my Catholic upbringing for my tendency to obsess and worry about absolutely everything. It's an excuse that most people accept at the very least.
check out crazyauntpurl.com - she had a fab post on worrying Aug-16th...
It's a good read to lighten one's load...
Stay well
