Don't Worry!!!

I know you have been worried sick about me being I had to drive into work today in the sleeting, icy rain but seriously, I'm ok.

I saw over 20 cars in the ditch on the way in.  One pile up was right near Hwy 55 and 169.  There was roughly 7 cars piled in the ditch.  One was upside down and on it's side.  An ambulance was on the scene when I drove by.

Apparently whomever was in the car that was flipped was hurt pretty badly.  At least, that is what the radio said.  When I tuned into WCCO for road conditions they were just describing the big pile up on Hwy 55 and 169 and told motorist to avoid it if they could.

It was at this point that I wanted to turn back and go home.  I saw about 8 more cars in the ditch after that and everyone of them still had people in them trying to free their stuck hunks of metal from the frozen water we call snow.

Drivers were going way to fast for the conditions.  I suppose it was because no one else was on the road to stop them being everyone else has the fricken day off.  My top speed was 20 miles an hour.  It took about a half hour to trek in so it was just like any other drive into work but with entertainment.

People, if you get you 4-door sedan stuck in a ditch more than likely removing the snow from the front of your tires all the way to the road really isn't going to help if your back tires are jammed with and slipping on ice and snow.

*shaking my head*

Well some of us sedan drivers aren't lucky enough to have four wheel drive so it makes us feel better to clear a path. HA!!! :-)

I'm glad you made it in safely! Can't wait to hear what you have to say about being at work while "everyone else has the day off". LOL.

Tornado? In January. Yup...it's not a dream.

First system moves through, misses us.

3:20 AM...Tornado warning #2, sirens blare throughout the County.

Again? Yup...again...another system.

What in the hell is happening? Am I south of the Equator now? Is Missouri near Costa Rica?
