I landed in a war zone and my home was ground zero of the battle field. Gun fire spattered from across the street and into the crowd of people in front of me. Victims fell to their knees crying out in pain as blood poured from their wounds. My heart raced and I knew I had to get out of here as fast as I could.
Turning swiftly I rushed to the back of the mass of gun fighters only to run directly into one of them. He was strong and much bigger than me. So much bigger that when I hit him I fell to the ground. He reached for my hand yelling, "Take it!". With bullets screaming by me, I opted for the help.
We rushed to the back of the house only to be met with more gun fire from the alley. I was sure we were going to die and just then someone called for a break. All the gun fire stopped and the silence was deafening. I was bewildered.
What war calls a time out? Apparently, the one in my dream.
They conferred for a moment and decided that people were hungry and needed to rest. Fighting would commence in two hours. I was stunned and still in shock. I realized that this was my chance to escape and start easing away from my earlier 'hero' only to feel his hand grip my arm and pull me too him.
"Where do you think you are going?", he blurted out angrily.
"Umm, I have to get to work, I'm not even dressed and this is crazy. Please, let me go - take what you want!", I pleaded with him.
"You are to stay here", he commanded.
Getting free from his grasp I refused to stay and started running as fast as I could. Within a few feet they caught me and put me in what looked like a half rusted cast iron holding cell. The doors were over 15 feet tall but the room only held ten of us. No one spoke. Everyone was silent but I knew that I was the only real person being held and they were there to make sure I didn't leave.
Time passed, darkness came and soon the battle began again. Each of us held in the room were escorted to the surface to be met by hostile gun fire. The dark night illuminated the fired bullets like lightening. I again ran for my life and found a corner of a nearby house to take refuge in.
I was relieved to have a moment of safety only to be startled once again. A flash light came from the alley and shined it's incriminating light upon me cowering in the corner. I was curled up shivering in fright only to see a faint shadow of a gun aimed in my direction and someone holding a light.
"JACQUE!! Is that you?", someone belted from across the way.
"Yes, it's me! Please, don't shoot me! I have done nothing wrong", I begged as I shielded my head with my hands whimpering to myself with fear.
All of the gunfire stopped. The air was silent and everyone fighting was heading in my direction. I had no choice but to stay where I was. I was outnumbered and about to die when out of the darkness a hand was extended to help me up.
"Hi Jacque, I'm your doctor and I have your test results back.", he stated.
I had no words to explain my confusion but he continued on to explain.
"Unfortunately, the tests came back poorly. You have an inoperable tumor in your brain and you have, give or take, roughly 6 months to live.", he bluntly expressed, "This little war game we are playing was done in an effort to make you feel a little better about your terminal illness.", he went on to tell me happily. "It can only make you appreciate the fact that instead of dying tonight like you thought you were going too, you have six more months to go!"
I was absolutely floored and with that I woke up late for work once again. So that is my dream. See what happens when I go to sleep with a head-ache??
Can you even believe it????

so you shot the doctor?
Naw, my internal alarm clock rang and I looked at the clock. I was late for work for real so I had to leave super quick. There just wasn't the time to shoot him like I would have hoped too.
GREAT OOGLY MOOGLY!!!
