Paper or Plastic?

I always choose the paper. I suppose that means I'm this ecologically conscious person right? I mean, paper biodegrades faster and more friendly than plastic bags. So naturally I would chose the paper. It's the only choice.

I use the paper bags for garbage bags sometimes. It saves a little money, I feel all good about it and if my mom comes over to my place she wouldn't bother me about buying the expensive trash bags. Guilt in Catholic families is common. It's the whole if you spend your money on those trash bags 'you will be condemned to hell' thing. My mom is so good at it that her tactics actually work at times or maybe I'm just that broke.

Maybe I need to start paying more attention to things like that? That way I won't feel bad spending extra money on unnecessary things when there are still starving people in the world - like in Ethiopia and places like that. We still have starving people here in the USA. A large community of homeless people living in our streets and abandoned buildings. This other day I came across this website (blog) about such a person. It's called The Homeless Guy. It's an interesting read if you have the time. From the looks of it - he is a pretty popular man on the net. It crossed my mind that he has all this time and money to maintain his site yet he is still jobless and without a home. Things that make you go, "Hmmmmm".

So why am I rambling on about paper and homeless people? I really don't know but it was a thought that crossed my mind and I felt compelled to share my ideas with you. So take from it what you will and enjoy.

Yes mom, I know I didn't have to mention the whole Catholic guilt thing but it totally fit with my entry and I already know that I'm a sinner and I'm going to hell so this won't make much of a dent in my unholiness.

A lot of people mistake a short memory for a clear conscience.
