Mastectomy Hospital Bill in Congress
If you know anyone who has had a mastectomy, you may know that there is a lot of discomfort and pain afterwards. Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an outpatient procedure. Let's give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after surgery.
Breast Cancer Hospitalization Bill - Important legislation for all women.
There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the "drive-through mastectomy" where women are forced to go home just a few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.

North Korea threatens war against U.S.
This is really starting to freak me out. I mean, I usually don’t talk about politics or world affairs on this blog simply because this is not somewhere I want people to come and get all tense, freaked out or angry. I’d like to think, as well as my readers, of my blog-o-sphere world as a happy place.
That being said, it still freaks me out. At times I think, we, as a nation stick our nose where it doesn’t belong and at other times I feel we don’t do enough. I’m undecided at this point where I stand on this issue other than the fact that I don’t want to even think about a possible nuclear attack. It’s so overwhelming to me that it makes me physically ill when I let myself think about it.
Why can’t we just all get along???
