So I went to the orthodontist yesterday and got the dirt on how much the braces I desperately want are gonna set me back. My insurance doesn’t cover anything associated with them so it will have to come out of my pocket. I’m excited to get them but I have to see a speech therapist and some TMJ pain doctor person before they will do it. At least the speech thing can happen after I get the braces.
Something has to give at this point. I can’t buy a car, go to school and get braces. My finances can’t handle it. I can’t put off the braces thing being it’s gonna be a two year process (actually three years if I include the retainer stage) and I want to get it started as soon as possible. I mean, I have been waiting for this practically my entire life and I finally have a good down payment saved up for them.
I wanted to get the new Invisalign braces but my mouth is too screwed up and I will have a mouth full of metal after all. How lame is that?

Some people don't realize how important braces are for many adults. I know several people that couldn't get them when they were kids because of a lack of funds.
As adults, they sacrificed and had to put up with a lot, but the results are well worth it, they tell me.
