Movie Review Time

Elektra – This movie was something I expected a little bit more from but didn’t get.  For some reason I thought it was gonna be more flashy and it wasn’t.  I loved her outfit however because of the blood-red color but that too could have been more prominently used in the movie.  I mean, she could have fought in it more than she did. Overall the story was fine it just wasn’t what I was looking for. RATING: Whatever…

Mrs. Henderson Presents – This movie was the fricken bomb!  I loved it.  I liked the costumes and the music and the showy dance number outfits.  Of course there was a bit of nudity in it being it was based on a true story of how the nude girls of the Windmill Theatre in London started but it was tasteful. I absolutely adored the character of Mrs. Henderson.  I hope when I’m her age I’m just as mischievous and fun! Her crush on Van Damm was precious and I was hoping they would get together but life happens.  RATING: A must see…

Emmanuel's Gift – Is a documentary about a man with one leg that bikes across his country of Ghana to raise awareness about disabled people in his country.  It’s a wonderful display of humanity at it’s best.  I enjoyed it – the story and the cinematography.  The colors and the artistry of the film work was wonderful.  If you are a documentary type of person this is a film you might enjoy.  RATING: I cried…

The Constant Gardener – This movie was a mover and a shaker.  I loved this film.  The story, the order in which it was shot, the cinematography, the colors, the people, the MUSIC – it was fascinating!!  I watched it twice which is a rarity with my attention span.  I will be purchasing the soundtrack.  I may even be purchasing this movie so I can enjoy it over and over.  This is a serious plot so don’t be getting this flick if you want to laugh or anything.  I not only think you should watch this film but you should go out and rent or buy it right now.  RATING: What are you waiting for?  GO!

the S man says: I would like to see this with you. In the meantime, if you have not already, you should check out "The Notebook" and "Second Hand Lions". Those are the totally deep serious movies I would recommend. For something a little lighter to go with the theme of your trip this weekend, check out the Son in Law, where you can get a hysterically cute look at Pauly Shore the first time he wears chaps. Miss ya already! -S
