After some nummy sushi we headed over to the Varsity Theatre and waited in line for Jolie Holland. Luckily, we made it there just in time to get in front of the line.
Our tickets said the show started at 8:00 but the doors didn't open until 8:00 and people were still arriving at 9:00. The show didn't even start until 9:30. Sean Hayes opened and his name surely suited him. He was in a 'hayes' of something alright. He sounded great though and I will be looking into more of his music even if he admitted he was a Virgo...
Jolie came out and wowed us with her beautiful voice. Although she sounded great the chick is whacked out on something or she is just that ditzy. If she is that disorganized without 'enhancements' I fear for her..
Unfortunately, she had to stop the concert and point out some rude people talking near the stage. What was worse is the people that were talking were standing right next to us on the platform we were sitting on. They were horribly rude and wouldn't stop being obnoxious and loud. Eventually, even after Jolie made the comment about them being rude, they got even louder.I had to take some action because it's my biggest pet peeve when people are rude in public. It's so immature. Once I asked them to keep it down, they eventually finished their drinks and left. FINALLY!! Too bad there was only two songs left to enjoy without their yapping. Ahhh well. Either way the concert was great despite waiting so long for it to start and the crazy talkers.
Jolie is someone I would like to see again. I think she is a great singer.

Some people are just plain morons. Too bad Jolie didn't jump down and kick their arses.
the chick who was the loudest was one of those little pixie girls who likes to chit-chat and sees the concert, not as a place to listen to music, but to "socialize."
some people should be banned from attending concerts.
