The Garden Project Part 1

Being I can’t do much with my leg for exercise I decided to tackle my garden project.  I enlisted Mark to do the heavy digging while I sat on my butt pulling apart seriously tough Hosta for transplantation and picking rocks. I got them from my sister’s house on Sunday.  Theses Hosta really needed to get in the ground.

We tried to keep the same shape as the garden next to it so it looked as if it was a planned thing.  The association thinks I’m a dream. (HA! little do they know…) I will be transferring pretty daisies, calla lilies, gladiolas & ferns as the days get warmer…

The soil is about 2 inches of black dirt (from the original sod laid down – which kinda came up with the sod…) and the rest is hard as rock clay.  Mark brought over some vermiculite (ground up cork) and we tried to mix that into the soil.  We worked on it into the late night.  (6:00-9:30)

I can’t post the pictures from work because well, I’m not allowed to download the picture posting software I use.  You will just have to wait for them…
