I just got the call...

It turns out that Carl died at 1:00pm today. He didn't come out of the coma and they pulled his feeding tube. I'm not sure what I think about all of this but my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I'm not sure if I will look at rollerblading in the same way ever again...

That's terrible. I hope more people there put on a damn helmet. It's such a simple easy thing to do, and it does save lives.

What a tragedy.

Thanks everyone. I'm sure I will hear about funeral arrangements tonight at the dome when I'm skating.

Wearing a helmet is something I do everytime I skate. This will not stop me from skating but it will stop some of my habits.

I do push myself harder than I should at times but I have been slowly pulling back from that and choosing to skate less and walk more as a substitue for exercise.

Training for the marathons will not stop but cross training is something that I will do more seriously.
