Letter of the day: Is she a good witch or a bad witch? <--This letter of opinion sent to the Star and Tribune says it best about Julie Carpenter(Girlfriend of Jonathon Sharkey) losing her job because of her religion.
The First Amendment clearly states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;". Now obviously she was discriminated against because of her religious choice. I realize that the first amendment doesn't say you can't be discriminated against however it does say everyone has the right to worship what and as they wish.
This article states; "She may be able to challenge the firing based on first amendment freedom of religion if she can show that that interferes with the spiritual force in her life," Leventhal says.
But he says it depends on the facts. "On the other hand, the firing could be justified if it can be shown that her actions constituted a potential threat to students' health or welfare," Leventhal says.
Are these people serious? Firing a woman because she admits she is a witch? My understanding of the meaning of the word witch is harmless and especially to kids riding a school bus.
I think they have gone too far on this one and it's unjust. Everyone would be up in arms if this was a Christian or a Jew and it's a blatant display of ignorance.
Shame on you Princeton School District & Peterson Bus company.
What you did was wrong.

If we're not allowed to say the Pledge of Allegiance in PUBLIC schools anymore because we may be insulting those not born in THIS country, than maybe we should just fire all people who are NOT non-denominational.
Morons!
Monty Python - Since witches are burned at the stake, they must be made of wood, since it burns as well. Wood floats on water, as do ducks. Therefore, if the woman weighs the same as a duck, she must be able to float on water, which means she is made of wood, and consequently must be a witch.
Burn her Burn her
did they take this movie seriously?
F'n Morons
don't burn her! she's made out of perfectly good wood!
