Last night I bought the last two boxes (I hope) for the wood flooring. When I unloaded the boxes I tried to park the truck in the garage on the right side so I could walk the boxes through the side of the garage instead of using my key and propping open the front door. Apparently while trying to do this, I hit the right passenger side mirror against the stupid shelf that Mark insisted wouldn't get in my way and busted a chunk out of it.
I suppose you could attribute this fiasco to my lack of parking ability but I would rather blame it on the stupid shelf that I insisted was built in the wrong place. It's hard to have a one car stall with all the building materials I have been using for the remodel so I'm not sure how upset I can be but I still am.
So this morning, it took me about 10 minutes to back out of the garage. It seems because I was so rattled about having the chunk of mirror chopped off I forgot to straighten my wheel prior to shutting off the truck. As I stepped on the gas to back out the last thing I wanted to do was be so close to the right side of the garage where all the metal file cabinets and wood scrap are stored.
From the sound of the grinding (and cussing) I'm pretty positive the right side of my truck has damage and I am too chicken to check it out. Good news is that I know how to turn the wheel to get out of that kind of situation in case I am ever misfortunate enough to get myself in that predicament again.
How reassuring......
