Me: Hello?!

 

Little L: hello.

 

Me: What are you doing?

 

Little L: nothing.

 

Me: Aren't you supposed to be going to school?

 

Little L: We don't have school today - it's two hours late!

 

Me:  Well, I thought all first graders still had to go....

 

Little L:  Nope.

 

Me: LLLLL is in first grade!  LLLLL is in first grade!  LLLL is in first grade!!! (sang in the ever so taunting manner of "na, na, na, na, nnaaaaaaa, naaaaaaaa")

 

Little L: Jacque is one huuuuunnnnnnnnndrrrreeeeeeeeddddddd!  Jacque is one Hunnnnnnnndred!

 

Me: For real?

 

Little L: Yup!

 

Me: I'm totally not 100 yrs old.

 

Little L:  Yes you are.

 

Me: Well, you're a first grader!

 

Little L: your 100!

 

Me: What do you do in first grade?

 

Little L: Play.

 

Me: Don't you go to school to learn?

 

Little L: no - we play.

 

Me: I wanna be in first grade

 

Little L: You can't - your a worker.

 

Me: Well, I can play there then.

 

Little L: No you can't!  you have to WORK!

 

Me: Who says?

 

Little L:  The workers....

 

Me: So you go to school and play and I go to work and work?

 

Little L: Yup!

 

Me:  Shouldn't it be  - you go to school and learn and I go to work and play?

 

Little L: nope..

 

Me: huh.

 

Little L:  (obviously trying to disguise her voice to sound like her older sister E she says) THIS IS E, DUH....(she added the DUH because E says it constantly because she is a smarty pants)

 

Me: (playing along) Oh HI E!  How are you?!

 

Little L: I'm good.  (she is giggling)

 

Me: So E...... what do you think of your sister L? (basically if you aren't following along, I'm asking her what she thinks about herself but she doesn't know I know that she is trying to be someone else)

 

Little L:  (BIG Hesitation...as if she was shocked I was gonna talk about her behind her back) ......I think she is cute!

 

Me:  (laughing at how absolutely adorably cute that was) ....I THINK SHE IS A FIRST GRADER!

 

Little L:  (still in character...so she thinks) WELL I THINK YOU ARE 100!
