Huzzah Your A@@!!

Today a friend and I went to the Olive Garden and our waitress was a flippin' festie that spoke the whole festie lingo while she waited on us.

Are you kidding me????

For any of you that don't know what a 'festie' is let me explain. Every year during the months of August and September a festival is held called the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.
The workers pretend they are from the 16th century and talk in this funny accent and pretend they are fricken British, a fairy or some weird mystical fantasy creature. These people are called 'festies' mainly because they work there.

I have volunteered at the festival for the last three years. I don't consider myself a festie and never have. I don't talk funny. I have an personality that is all my own and not shared with the duchess of Windsor that was banished from the kingdom of fairyland. Trust me when I tell you that this pretend accent and act that everyone flaunts around with is ANNOYING AS HELL!

The majority of festies are annoying hermit people that never know when to quit. I realize some of them are actors and they must play a part however, there are some that are not and are in character anyway. These people are never OUT of their 'character' mostly because they don't have much of a personality them self and they must rely on this fantasy personality to help them make friends. Which means that even after hours when the festival is closed these people still carry on this stupid little charade.

Not only do people talk funny but they have horrible accents and act like nincompoops. As if them acting like a fairy troll is going to actually represent how peasants lived in filth and more filth in the 16th century?? No, but it's a fantasy land and if someone is going to talk and act that way it does belong at the festival.

--Not in Olive Garden when I'm trying to enjoy my lunch for Pete's sake.
