When I was rightous and dishonest - You taught me about modesty and integrity.
When I was selfish and greedy - You taught me about Catholic guilt
and sacrifice. When I was bored and alone - You taught me how to garden.
When I scraped my knee and you couldn't stand the blood - You were there.
When I was sick and 'dying' - You nursed my drama queen butt to life.
When you saw the danger - You warned me.
When you saw the mistake - You let me make it.
When I wanted to quit - You pushed me harder.
When I hit the bottom - You held my hand.
When I struggled through the chaos - You shined a light.
When I came into the clearing - You said "Good job."
When I need to hear it the most - You tell me "You're almost there"
When I reach the top - You'll have yourself to blame.
Thanks Mom.
