So I'm late for work and I'm rushing through the house. I grab all my things for work and I head outside. I'm locking up and I'm going over all the things I forgot in the house and head for my truck. I'm hoppin' in the seat and I notice someone is blocking my driveway looking up at me. It was a white van with some Plumbing company on the side. The driver wasn't looking at the house number. He wasn't looking at the neighbors house. He was looking up my driveway and in my mirror looking at him. It hit me... the way he sat in the van, the way his silhouette formed and the intensity with which he was staring only at me. I knew.
In disbelief still thinking it had to be some lost plumber but the second I put it in reverse he bolted. I mean, if he was lost he would have gone slow right? I watched him go down the road, he put on his left turn signal but went straight at the stop sign. It was almost as if he was really nervous.
Am I just hoping? Am I being crazy here? My gut is so sure it was him. My gut, my heart, my entire being knew it was him. It was that feeling I got the first day I laid eyes on him.
Even so, I can't help but wonder why...
Needing someone is like needing a parachute. If they aren't there the first time, chances are you won't be needing them again.
