Country Bumpkin' Sayings

I was talking to a friend of mine (Cowboy Man) and he said something that struck me as odd. I had mentioned that it looked like rain here and he said, "The heck you say."

Of course, I said, "What?" about 13 times as he explained that "The heck you say" is another saying like "I'll be darned." or "I'll be." For any of you that still don't' know that explanation, it means - "I'm surprised" or "That's surprising"

After talking a bit longer and after we were done laughing I asked if he had any other odd sayings. Below is what he came up with in the 10 minutes he had to think about it.

"THE HECK YOU SAY" = "I'm surprised" or "That's surprising"
A.K.A -- "I'll be" or I'll be darned"

"FEELING MY OATS" = Proud of one's self, Happy, Bragging

"YOU'RE AS FINE AS FROG HAIR" = You're awesome! That is mighty fine.
A.K.A -- "You Rock!"
