So I'm sitting in the parking lot at work yesterday and I'm stuck there. I start my car and I'm unable to put it into reverse. It just sits there....
I'm like, "What - the - hell - EVER! HELLO!?!" It's not even a year old yet!
After about 30 minutes my car allows me to drive it. So I go home and think - I better call the dealership tomorrow. So today - what do I do?
So I'm out in my car after work again, I start my naughty car and it sits there.... again. Won't move. So I call the dealership and explain that I'm stuck in the parking lot. The dude on the phone is like, "oOOHHHHhhhh, no problem lady! Shut off your car - put your left hand on the gear shifter - punch in the button - slightly turn your key as if to start it - feel the click and move it into neutral but only half way - then start the car and before the engine is started all the way, slip it into drive....."
I do everything the 'VW Master' tells me and I'm off to the VW dealership for them to fix it. I get there and they tell me that they can give me the recall that I've been waiting to be installed for 2 months and an oil change I'm in need of in an effort to save time but it will take 3 hours.
I tell the dude sure and I wait. I call Nikki - busy. I call Mark - not home but left a message. I call Chris - in a meeting but will call back. Hmmmmmm, I'm getting somewhere. So I head walking down the road to where the car dude says I can find a restaurant and I realize about a block down the road that I have a sprained ankle and walking - isn't my best option. I turn around and head back to sit and wait it out....
My phone rings - THANK GOD. Mark calls and we get into a discussion that filled up about 30 minutes of my time. Meanwhile, Chris calls, is five minutes away and we decide to go waste time eating stuff and gabbing. So we hang out and talk and yak.... and come across BEN AND JERRY's ice cream shop.
I'm not a big ice cream freak considering I worked for Dairy Queen as a kid for 5 years but we decided that we had no choice. It was calling to us. Like in one of those sci-fi movie dreams and crap. So off we go to gain 5 pounds in ice cream world. Heaven is the world I think.... It was SO good.
Back at the dealership after I'm dropped off I expected to wait about 10 more minutes. After all it had been 2 1/2 hours already. NO.... it took longer. So I'm sitting there in the waiting room and WHAMO! Someone says, "Hey Jacque, how the hell are ya?!" I look up and none other than Erik was standing over me. Family in tow, he was buying a VW Golf tonight with his wife and son.
So we gab and find out we will be seeing each other at a client vendor deal on Thursday anyway. I say Hi! to the wife and all is well. I must have killed a whole 5 minutes maybe? Who knows - about 10 minutes later it was ready and I was on my way home.
Three hours and $22.00 later I was thinking - 'Wonder if this would have happened if I had got the Orange one....'
Nearing the end...
The world is so hard to grasp at times. Jaded or cautious? Who's to say which it is that hinders me? Maybe it's a little of both. I just know I'm afraid of losing something dear to me.
Time and paitience.......
