We are training and I get a call from the security guard
I'm totally shocked. Thoughts of doom are racing through my mind. I can't imagine why he would show up at my work when he works a full hour after me. Holy crap, something is wrong. He's fired.
I get there and I'm all out of breath, nervous to hear and he is all smiles with a fricken Santa cap on his head. Turns out he got off early and wanted to hang out with me. Normally, I would be all like whatever but today it was slower and I didn't mind the additional craziness to the day.
The end of the day comes and both Becky my trainee and Mark head for home. (not together mind you) I put in another hour or so of work and head to Rollerdome.
The lower level was over flowing with little twits and crazy people. After three laps I head for the upstairs. At first I didn't mind since my
This time of year more and more people learn about the rollerdome and it gets more and more crowded. Not only is it crowded, a lot of the people there, don't know the rules. The newbies come with friends and are too busy talking to one another to notice there is someone right next to them and their skates. On two occasions I had someone hit my wheels and I nearly fell. Trying to keep my pace and concentration I managed to gain control again.
I was on my 12th lap and because I was on the upper level there is less room to skate on the turns. I am one of the slowest skaters at the dome so I tend to stay on the furthest right of the course. The upper level has some deep crevices filled with cualking which sometimes can be tricky to skate on if you hit them just right. Especially if someone is on your left knocking your wheels for the THIRD time.
The whole line of wheels ended up in one of these death traps and being my legs were tired, before I knew it I was down on my knee again. AGAIN PEOPLE! I had to skip 8 months of blading because of that knee and some chick trying to be cool with her friends on the top level was too concerned with her juicy gossip
So with a bruise on my ego and again on my FLIPPIN' knee I thought I would try the lower 'safer' level again. So I head down there only to find it littered with kids and their moms and dads trying to keep up. My knee was throbbing and I was so upset about losing my momentum that I only did seven more laps.
On top of everything that I had to deal with tonight, I go to take off my skates and there was not one fricken seat open. I had to literally ask someone to give up their seat so I could get ready to go. I HATE
Ok, I'm done bitchin'.
