Imagine you are walking in a dark tunnel - moss, dripping water, puddles and clammy, stale, dingy air is surrounding you. You have spent years searching for a way out of the maze you tangled yourself in. Off in the distance you see a ray of light shining through a minute crack in the wall. Years of decay have weakened the mortar and slowly striped away the stone.
Your heart races and your mind scrambles, going through each emotion of elation. Can this be real? Sunlight among the blinding darkness. Running to feel the warmth on your skin and forgetting to pay attention to your where you are, your foot slips from beneath you sending you crashing into the cold water filling the carefully curved floor of your prison.
You lay there unable to feel anything but the pain running through every muscle and bone in your back. Paralyzed for a moment, wondering if you are able to get up, you slowly gain your senses and eventually you pull yourself up. You are full of the mud and grime from the bottom of the pit and your skin is chilled from the dampness.
Watching your every step, you inch your way to the spot in the tunnel where the light glimmers. You shield your eyes from it's glaring brilliance but you can't help but bask in it's warmth. Your hand grabs at the crack in the wall and your fingers tear away the brittle mortar.
Dust particles fill the ray of light as the very walls that have held you captive for so many years crumble before you. Joy and happiness fill your soul and yet you find yourself unsure of what the future brings. Outside these walls is the brilliant light source you have been waiting for yet you slow your digging and peer outside the growing gap in fear. Unable to trust that this is the path to take or if there could be a door around the corner....
I'm stuck peering outside when I should be breaking the wall down. However, I've found a sledge hammer and I'm absolutely sure that when I break the wall, I will find my greatness.
I'm so close....
